TTO – Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan have invested $3 billion to establish a medical research fund to “cure” all diseases before the year 2100.
During a press conference in San Francisco, according to BBC, on September 21, the Zuckerberg couple said their ultimate goal is “to cure, prevent and manage all diseases by the end of this century”.
This fund will be contributed by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, which the couple founded in December 2015.
Mr. Zuckerberg informed about the three principles of his and his wife’s investment fund this time: to help scientists and engineers get closer together; build tools and technology to advance medical research; developed to raise more funds in the field of science around the world.
Ms. Chan also added that she and her husband have commissioned $600 million to establish a new research center called Biohub to bring engineers, computer scientists, biologists, chemists and Pioneers in finding new inventions in science closer together.
