Four days after making out at a Taylor Swift concert in Madrid, Ryan Reynolds and his second wife Blake Lively took a romantic arm-in-arm stroll in Manhattan on Monday not far from their lavish Tribeca penthouse apartment.
At 47, the Emmy-winning producer is 11 years older than the Gossip Girl alum, but they’ve been happily married for 11 years after meeting on the set of Green Lantern in 2010.
Ryan wore a blue short-sleeve button-up with grey slacks and white Converse sneakers while Blake wore a black tank top tucked into blue jeans with red Converse sneakers.
Reynolds and Lively (𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 Brown) are proud parents of three daughters – James, 9; Inez, 7; and Betty, 4 – as well as a fourth 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in February 2023, whose name and gender have not been revealed.
Last Friday, a source told In Touch that the IF actors named their 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 Obi, which is ‘short for a longer name and its origin is incredible deep and meaningful’ – similar to Eli Brown’s character Otto ‘Obie’ Bergmann IV from Max’s short-lived Gossip Girl reboot.
Last Wednesday, Blake wrapped her triple role as Emily Nelson, Hope McLanden, and Faith McLanden in the highly-anticipated sequel A Simple Favor 2 which was filmed in Italy.
Paul Feig’s black comedy crime thriller also stars Alex Newell, Anna Kendrick, Allison Janney, Lorenzo de Moor, Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, and Elizabeth Perkins.
‘I’ve never done a sequel before [because of the pressure]. I’ve always tried to stay away from it but this one I just loved these characters and always felt we can revisit them,’ the 61-year-old filmmaker told Variety on May 23.
‘We threw out the original [script] draft that was going to get made. We were like, “As much as we like what we have here, we don’t think this is what the people who really loved the first movie are going to 100 percent want.” We’ve been working on it for two and half years now, almost three, developing it and it getting it right.’
The first film – A Simple Favor – scored a ‘certified fresh’ 84% critic approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and amassed $97.6M at the global box office.
Audiences can next catch Lively producing and starring as Lily Bloom, a Boston woman torn between loving a neurosurgeon or her high school sweetheart, in Sony Pictures’ romantic drama It Ends with Us hitting US/UK theaters August 9.
Justin Baldoni’s big-screen adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s 2016 novel also stars Justin Baldoni, Brandon Sklenar, Jenny Slate, and Hasan Minhaj.
Meanwhile, Ryan and his fellow Wrexham AFC co-chairman Rob McElhenney currently star in the eight-episode third season of their docuseries Welcome to Wrexham, which airs Thursdays on FX.
