Kim Kardashian’s daughter North West has sparked some concern following the announcement of her debut album.
The eldest 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 of Kardashian and Kanye West took to the stage at a listening event for her father’s upcoming album on Sunday (March 10), where she announced that she is also releasing some new music.
“I’ve been working on an album,” the 10-year-old began, before the crowd erupted into applause. “And it’s called Elementary School Dropout.”
The title is a nod to Kanye’s 2004 album The College Dropout, which was inspired by the rapper’s decision to leave Chicago State University to pursue a career in music.
This has sparked some concern from fans online, who are now speculating if it could mean that North is following in her father’s footsteps by dropping out of school to pursue music.
“North West didn’t actually drop out of elementary school right-,” one user tweeted, while another said: “So North West dropping an album called ‘Elementary School Drop-Out’! Hey I think it’s cool she wanna do music. It’s just..how is this a good idea to call an album that?”
North often appears alongside her mother on reality show The Kardashians, which is returning for a fifth season on May 23.
