Taylor Swift just started her Eras Tour show in Cardiff, Wales, this evening, where her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, wasn’t seen in the audience. There’s a good reason why he isn’t there: The Kansas City Chiefs player has a major football commitment stateside this week.
Kelce arrived yesterday for Tight End University in Nashville, which brings together tight ends in the league for “a variety of activities including film study, on-field drills, recovery, rehabilitation, and more,” per the event’s site. The welcome reception was last night, and the program is running for three days. Its Instagram shared a video this morning of Kelce at the first event. He was also spotted there this morning.
After the summit though, Kelce and Swift’s reunion really could happen. Page Six reported last month that Kelce will be in Cannes, France, on Thursday, June 20, to record an episode of New Heights during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Swift is on break from tour that day, so she could theoretically join him there, or he could join her in London after the event. She is set to begin her first three shows in the British city on June 21.
Swift and Kelce were last seen together in Lake Como, Italy, in mid-May. Over the last month, they have been physically apart.
Swift has been traveling across Europe, playing her Eras Tour shows. Kelce, meanwhile, has been in the U.S. doing various acting and football work commitments. Here’s a breakdown of where they’ve been.
Swift did give Kelce a very public show of support last week, however, joining a livestream of the Chiefs’ Super Bowl ring ceremony from Liverpool. She left a couple comments congratulating Kelce and the team before logging off because of the six-hour time difference. “Gotta go to sleep it’s so late here love you guys,” she wrote.
A source spoke to Entertainment Tonight on Friday about how Kelce and Swift are managing their long-distance connection. “Taylor and Travis make sure that the current long-distance aspect of their relationship doesn’t last very long,” that insider said. “They both move their schedules around if it’s feasible and try to carve out as much time as they can to see each other, as well as each other’s families and friends.”
The source noted that they are dedicated to maintaining their romance: “They prioritize each other and do anything and everything to make each other happy. Their relationship is genuine, and they both want to make it work, so it does.”
