Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has been quick to praise team-mate Cole Palmer after the Blues’ 4-1 win against Burnley yesterday.
Cole Palmer played a key role in Chelsea’s victory at Turf Moor, scoring a penalty and setting up their fourth goal, and Conor Gallagher has sent a positive message to the 21-year-old on Instagram.
In response to a post Palmer uploaded following the match, Gallagher replied: “Love it bro well done”.
Palmer’s penalty against Vincent Kompany’s men was his first goal for Chelsea since joining them from Manchester City over the summer.
Mauricio Pochettino will now be hoping for more of the same from the attacking midfielder when his side take on London rivals Arsenal after the international break.
Cole Palmer deserves his plaudits
With it being 1-1 at the time, Palmer shouldered a lot of responsibility when he decided to take the penalty Chelsea had been awarded for a foul on Raheem Sterling.
Being such a young player, the England U21 international deserves credit for that alone, while his role in Nicolas Jackson’s goal would have also pleased his manager.
Overall, it was a really good day for Palmer and his team-mates and we hope that it is not a one-off.
Chelsea’s match versus Arsenal when the Premier League resumes after the international break is obviously going to be a much harder outing than the trip to Turf Moor.
But after back-to-back wins against the Clarets and west London rivals Fulham, Pochettino’s side must be feeling confident right now and hopeful of getting a positive result.
