The actor, 50, proved to be in good spirits as he chatted to his mum and dad on their way to the Cross Creek Shopping Center in Malibu.

However the star caught attention with his striking resemblance to his father – who kept comfortable in a blue shirt, cargo trousers and glasses.

With his casually glamorous mother close-behind, the clan proved to be in good spirits as they caught up over lunch, before heading home with their leftovers in hand.

Action man Jason is best known for his role of Deckard Shaw in the much-loved Fast and Furious franchise.

However, he is currently anticipating the release of his new science fiction film The Meg – which sees a 75-foot prehistoric shark attack a research boat in the middle of the ocean.

Having come across the creature before, Jason’s character Jonas Taylor is swiftly sent out to save the crew, and stop the shark heading to the mainland.

The film is directed by Jon Turteltaub, of Cool Runnings and National Treasure fame, is set for release in August.
