Steph Curry Reinforces LeBron James’ Team USA Reminder Before Gold Medal Game

Steph Curry, welcome to the Olympics. In his first four games, the Golden State Warriors star was performing badly. His shooting was uncharacteristically off, leading to the starting lineup struggling for the most part.

Against Serbia, though, Curry finally broke out of his slump. The Warriors star shot 12-for-19 from the field and drained nine of his 12 three-point attempts, finishing with 36 points in the semifinals. It’s the second-highest individual scoring output in Olympic history, behind only Carmelo Anthony.

However, the ride hasn’t ended yet for Curry and Team USA. In two days, they’ll be playing in the gold-medal game for a chance to clinch the US’ fifth straight gold. LeBron James already made sure to send that reminder on social media.

Curry, one of the leaders of the team with LeBron, tagged every Team USA teammate on IG to keep them honest.

After starting the Olympics shooting just 35% from the field for 29 total points, Curry made a statement against Serbia. His hot shooting kept Team USA afloat as Serbia used their own hot shooting to jump to a 17-point lead at one point.

The USA finally broke through the Serbian defense in the fourth quarter, using Curry’s gravity to open up shots for others. On defense, Curry held his own against Serbia’s taller players and shut down the offense. He finished the game by scoring seven of the team’s last 11 points to finish the comeback.

Team USA will now face the host country, France, in the gold medal game. Curry will look to find that same stroke he had against Serbia against the streaking French squad.
