A BELOVED news anchor has died at 39, his station announced.
Just weeks before his death, Los Angeles journalist Chauncy Glover celebrated a year at his job with a now-heartbreaking post.

CBS affiliate KCAL announced Glover’s death on their broadcast on Tuesday.
On October 11, Glover shared a video on Instagram celebrating his first year at the job.
“Don’t watch the clock; do what it does. Keep going!” he wrote.
“God is good!”
Glover moved to KCAL News in October 2023 after spending eight years at ABC affiliate KTRK-TV in Houston.
His family shared a heartbreaking statement about his death on Tuesday.
“We, Sherry and Robert Glover, along with Chauncy’s beloved family, are devastated by the unimaginable loss of our beloved Chauncy,” his family shared, according to KABC.
“He was more than a son and brother – he was a beacon of light in our lives and a true hero to his community.
“Chauncy’s compassion and dedication to helping others, especially through the Chauncy Glover Project, changed countless lives and inspired so many young men to pursue their dreams.”
The Chauncy Glover Project is a mentorship program created to empower young men.
“His talent, warmth, and vision left an imprint on everyone who knew him, and the world is dimmer without him,” his family’s statement concluded.
Glover won three Emmy awards throughout his journalism career.
Just a week ago, the anchor shared his excitement to be in the California community on Instagram.
“Saturday—along Crenshaw was a celebration of black culture and black excellence! In the heart of South #LA,” he posted on Instagram.
“We ate some good food, listened to some good music, and met some good people! Good vibes only.”
Fans are sharing their reactions to Glover’s death on his social media accounts.
“This is Heartbreaking,” one fan commented on his last post.
“My Mom and I watch you daily. She just called me in tears.”
Another shared, “Im shocked…rest in peace.”
“You will be greatly missed. Thank you for your kindness,” another simply wrote.
“Houston TX was Sad the day you announced you were leaving for LA but knew you’d be a blessing to them as you were to us,” one fan shared.
“You did so much for us during Harvey and so much for young youth men. While this news Saddens us we know heaven gained an angel. Long live Chauncey.”
Glover’s cause of death hasn’t been revealed.
