With this score, Charlie Woods finished in a tie for 29th place. He was the third-highest finisher on his team, which was led by fellow sophomore Andrew Tsar. Andrew finished in a tie for 16th place with a score of 4 over 148.
Buccaneers star, senior Pavel Tsar, did not fare well in the event. Pavel (Andrew’s brother) carded a 9 over 81 for the first round and even par in the second to finish in a tie for 39th place.
Oxbridge Academy won the Florida High School State Championship with a score of 587. The Benjamin Academy Buccaneers finished second, nine strokes behind the champions.
Luke Gossett of Circle Christian High School topped the individual leaderboard with a 5-under 139. 95 players from 16 teams took part in the tournament which was played at Mission Resort Inn + Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
Tiger Woods accompanied Charlie Woods throughout the event
Charlie Woods was accompanied by his father Tiger Woods throughout the event. The Palm Beach Post reported that the 15-time major champion was present “from start to finish” at the Florida High School State Championship.
Several images published by The Palm Beach Post show Tiger Woods closely watching the event unfold, especially Charlie’s performance.

The same report stated that Charlie had a much better second round than the first and that he was even 2-under for the tournament. The Palm Beach Post obtained statements from Toby Harbeck, coach of the Benjamin Academy Buccaneers, and this is what he had to say about Charlie Woods:
“Much better. He gets on a roll, he can make three, four, five [birdies] in a row. This golf course dictates where you’ve got to hit it. You’ve got to kind of take your medicine. There are some holes out here that you cannot birdie. As aggressive as he is, it paid off. He played well today, very well today.”
Charlie and the Benjamin Academy Buccaneers qualified for the Florida High School State Championship after finishing second in the Regional Championship. There they lost to Oxbridge Academy, the same team that won the state championship.
The next high-level event for Charlie should be the PNC Championship in December alongside his father. However, Tiger Woods has yet to confirm his participation in the tournament.
