Saudi side Al-Hilal ‘switch attention to Neymar’ as they fly in for talks with the Brazilian after missing out on signing Lionel Messi… with PSG open to offers for the world’s most expensive footballer

Neymar is the latest target for Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal after they missed out on signing Lionel Messi.

According to CBS Sports, representatives of Al-Hilal are in Paris trying to secure a deal for the world’s most expensive footballer and are preparing a lucrative offer for the Brazilian.

Al-Hilal were close to convincing Lionel Messi to move the Saudi Pro League, until the World Cup winner decided to move to MLS side Inter Miami, so they have now  switched attention to Messi’s former PSG teammate.

The owners, the Public Investment Fund are keen to match rivals Al-Nassr and their recruitment of Cristiano Ronaldo in signing and major marquee player to the club.

Neymar fits that bill and would help continue to build their rivalry with Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr, if they can convince the 31-year-old to effectively end his European football career.

The report states that a senior delegation flew from Al-Hilal to the French capital on Friday, looking to open talks and if there would be any interest from the move from Neymar’s camp.

The club would offer comparable terms to Ronaldo’s €200million a year and would be prepared to pay PSG around €45 million.

French champions PSG would be open to moving on the Brazilian, who is said to have been on the market since last summer without any concrete interest.

Neymar has struggled for fitness in Paris and has only played more than 30 games in one season for the club on just one occasion since his record-breaking move to Ligue 1 in 2017.

He has previously been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with the player himself eyeing up a move to Manchester United and Erik ten Hag himself refusing to rule out a deal.

There has also been some reports of Chelsea holding meeting with his representatives, while both Newcastle and Arsenal have also been linked with an interest in the Brazilian star.

PSG could be willing to let Neymar leave Paris this summer if a deal can be reached
