Taking A Big Shot At Brooklyn Nets Supporters Is Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant is on the Phoenix Suns, and after the acquisition of Bradley Beal, they have the top-heavy team in the NBA. This has had another effect though, which is that the attempted ridicule of Kevin Durant has begun again.

Kevin Durant has been a part of a lot of talented teams and invariably, the people pointing this fact out to discredit him are fans of the Brooklyn Nets. In reply to one of those recently, KD took a big shot at fans of his former team.

“Brooklyn fans are obsessed with Phoenix (me),” he wrote in a tweet that he would go on to delete. That was spotted by a lot of people though.

Kevin Durant left Brooklyn on a sour note, with the fans expecting him to stick with the team he signed such a long deal with. When he asked to be traded away after being involved in a lot of the drama that went down within the franchise, it wasn’t the best look for him. And his creating another Big 3 immediately after was always going to lead to mocking from the larger NBA community.

However, Durant can shut all this noise down by winning a championship. The expectations will be massive for the Phoenix Suns, and if they weren’t before, Brooklyn fans will be watching them closely next season. If the Suns don’t win it all, these tweets will be used as fodders by trolls to get under his skin.

Kevin Durant Is Under No Illusions About His Nets Tenure

While these fights make it seem like the tension was massive between Durant and the Nets, he was quite realistic about his time on the team. He explained it as certain sh*t not working out after he moved to the Suns.

“I want the best for that organization. I wanted the best for us every game. I hated it had to go down like that,” he said. “I wasn’t trying to prove the Nets is a s—ty organization. I was trying to prove that the Nets are a great organization, that they care about their players, want the best for their players. Certain s— just didn’t work out. I understand that.”

Kevin Durant beefing with fans is nothing new, it’s not even that big of a deal to him or a surprise to the fans. But it’s sad to see his relationship with Nets fans get worse and worse when the reason for the animosity is over.
