Chelsea looked to be falling to a 1-0 defeat thanks to Marius Wolf’s second-half goal for Borussia Dortmund before Mason Burstow’s late strike secured a draw in the Blues’ final pre-season match of the summer at Soldier Field

Kepa Arrizabalaga – Made a brave early intervention Levi Colwill was pushed into him as he cleared up play. 6.

Reece James – Steady but unspectacular second period from the Blues’ captain. 5.

Thiago Silva – Another solid half from the captain who looked comfortable against his Bundesliga opponents. 6.

Levi Colwill – A very decent outing to cap off signing his new deal this week. 6.

 

Ben Chilwell – Combined more efficiently with Mudryk in the second period and remains a key forward threat. 6.

Enzo Fernandez – Picked some passes but had a quiet if steady half of football. 5.

Conor Gallagher – Played significant minutes alongside Fernandez but perhaps did not exert too much control with his partner in the centre of the pitch. 5.

Raheem Sterling – Drew some fouls and showed good pace in the second period and also an improved delivery. Possibly his best period of all pre-season. 6.

Carney Chukwuemeka – Could have got on the scoresheet after 54 minutes b ut saw his shot well saved. Pressed really well. 6.

Nicolas Jackson – Kept his composure well to find Chukwuemeka when he was unable to control the ball quickly enough from Sterling’s cross and kept Chelsea’s chance alive. Continued to show good feet throughout the half. 7.

Mykhailo Mudryk – Drew a murmur of excitement from the crowd every time he was on the ball and always looked to pose the opposition a problem. 7.

Marc Cucurella – Was unfortunate to see a challenge almost play a Dortmund striker through, and nipped in with a couple of challenges. 6.

Bashir Humphreys – Afforded the opportunity to play alongside his Cobham teammate in Colwill and once again produced an assured performance. 6.

Ian Maatsen – One again showed his versatility as he slotted in behind the striker against Dortmund. 6.

Malo Gusto – Showed a good turn of pace in his defensive work in the short time he was on the pitch. 6.

Lewis Hall – Played high on the left ahead of Cucurella but did not have time to make much of an impact. 5.

Mason Burstow – Scored a late equaliser with a poacher’s instincts. 7.
