Anne Hathaway in a great outfit from fashion history at the 2003 Golden Globes

It’s my dream dress for frolicking around an imaginary field of flowers.

There are perfectly good celebrity style moments, and then there are the looks that really stick with you, the ones you try desperately to recreate at home. In ‘Great Outfits in Fashion History,’ Fashionista editors are revisiting their all-time favorite lewks.

She stepped into her rightful royal place in “The Princess Diaries.” She went toe-to-toe with a petrifying Miranda Priestly in “The Devil Wears Prada.” She sang her heart out as Fantine in “Les Misérables.” Basically, there’s nothing Anne Hathaway can’t do.

The Academy Award-winning actor has been at the top of her fashion game lately thanks to her collaboration with stylist Erin Walsh. (Recent favorites include the shimmering, hooded Versace gown she wore to a Bulgari event and her safety-pinned Versace look from the Met Gala.) But her early red-carpet looks are a testament to the star she would soon become.

While attending the 60th Golden Globe Awards in 2003, a 21-year-old Hathaway donned this romantic magenta dress, which appears to be from Elie Saab’s Spring 2004 Haute Couture collection, that combines a beaded bust with a flowing watercolor train. The matching flower appliqués and gold jewelry take this it from elegant to ethereal. It’s hard to pick a favorite Hathaway look, but this outfit is definitely high on my list.

Is it just me or does this dress make anyone else want to run around a field of flowers? For anyone who’s looking for the perfect frolicking ensemble, we’ve rounded up some choices that are sure to capture that Y2K-era whimsical vibe.
