“Can someone, kindly?” Playing the ultimate fanboys, Mookie Betts and Mike Trout beg for a tee time at a course that exudes Tiger Woods’ mastery

Mike Trout may be a pro baseballer but his golf dream is apparent. The same goes for Mookie Betts. Both stars from Los Angeles are fan favorites in the MLB world. While the Dodgers have taken first place in the NL West, the Angels are struggling to come up from fourth in the AL West. On top of that, Mike Trout is still dealing with a persistent left-hand injury that put him on the IL for a second time recently. While he recovers, playing baseball is out of the question and so is golf.

But on the plus side, it gives Trout more time to focus on his personal golf project. Trout National – The Reserve will be ready by 2025 at the earliest and is in its first stages of development. Partnering with legend of the sport Tiger Woods, the Angels slugger is giving it his all. Trout has also played at many a course over the years but there is one that still eludes him and Betts.

Mookie Betts and Mike Trout Want a Shot at Tiger Woods’ Famous Augusta

Golf lovers know Augusta as home to the Masters Tournament. For the unversed, the course only allows entry to members and is only open to the public during the famous golf tourney. Year-round, club members can invite other players, which is how Mookie Betts and Mike Trout can gain admission too.

On June 22, the two players came together for Bleacher Report’s On Base With Mookie Betts. When Betts asked Trout’s favorite courses he’s played at, the slugger named Firestone. But when the Dodgers outfielder asks the Angels center fielder about Augusta, he looks out with longing, “Haven’t played Augusta, got invited a couple times but -“

Betts chimed in, “I want to play that.” Trout agreed, “I wanna play it bad. Somebody’s gotta be out again.” Betts then looks at the camera, pleading, “Can somebody get us on Augusta please?” Trout just said, “Come on, please.” Since Woods is helping the Angels player out, maybe he can send him an invite as soon as he’s ready to hold a club.

The legendary golfer is famous for his victories at Augusta. He can certainly afford to pull the strings to admit a friend or two to the beautiful greens. This time, Betts should be careful when driving the golf cart, so a repeat incident from 2016 doesn’t occur.

Mookie Betts’ Golf Cart Once Ended Up in the Pond

Fortunately, no one was in it. Back in 2016, Betts was on the greens with his then-Boston Red Sox teammate Travis Shaw. One thing led to another and before they knew it, the golf cart was in the pond. “I left my club on the last hole and I went back to get it,’’ Betts recounted.

“Parked on a hill. Thought I pushed the break, but it didn’t break, obviously. I didn’t push it all the way in. I ran to get my club and by the time I turned around, it was going in the pond. That’s pretty much it,” he added.

Then he admitted, “I’m done driving. I’ll just let everyone else take over. I may just walk. It may be better.” While this experience may have left the Dodgers player scarred, one can hope it didn’t deter him from playing golf again!
