The moment a new 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 arrives isn’t just special for the new parents. It’s a life-changer for big siblings, who now have someone to whom they’ll be bonded for the rest of their lives. And there’s nothing quite like seeing how ᴇxᴄɪᴛᴇᴅ big sisters and brothers get when they’re finally invited into the room to welcome the new member of the family. So we asked 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 photographers to share some of those amazing moments. Trust us, they didn’t disappoint.

There are lots of anxious parents who are worried about what to do with their older 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 when a new 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 is 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧. Jealousies are sure to arise and kids have been known to not always have the best reactions to the new addition. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. Before the temper ᴛᴀɴᴛʀᴜᴍs and ᴠʏɪɴɢ for moms attention, there is the magical point when a big brother or sister meets the new sibling and for a moment (possibly the last), everything seems calm and happy. It is an exciting moment that marks the next phase of the family’s journey.

Bree Miller of Reseda, Cᴀʟɪꜰᴏʀɴɪᴀ recently ɢᴀᴠᴇ ʙɪʀᴛʜ to her first 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥, a daughter named Marley Rae. When it came time for the tiny infant to meet some of her family members, Bree had her camera ready to capture the sweet moments, but she had no idea just how sweet those moments would end up being. Two of Marley Rae’s new cousins were paying a visit that day to check her out. As Bree held and fed the 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦, the two little girls seemed rapt with attention. They would tentatively reach out to touch her downy-soft hair, and both couldn’t wait to get that little girl in their own arms to hold her.

Two cushions were placed in her lap in anticipation of the youngster meeting her new cousin – who was in the arms of a woman next to her. As soon as Bree placed a sleeping Marley Rae into her niece Tiffany’s arms, the little girl seemed ᴏᴠᴇʀᴡʜᴇʟᴍᴇᴅ. The little girl kissed the 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦’s forehead, rubbing their noses together as she hugged the new𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 and then begins ᴛᴏ ᴛᴇᴀʀ ᴜᴘ. At some point, the 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 started ᴄʀʏɪɴɢ, and one would have thought she would be rattled by that. But instead, she stroked the 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦’s legs till the 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 stopped ᴄʀʏɪɴɢ.

Anyone who has ever felt a surge of love for a 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 will recognize the look in little Tiffany’s eyes as she cradles Marley Rae to her chest. She seems to be a natural caregiver with a big heart, and we can see she’s going to be the best cousin anyone could ever ask for! Bree’s camera was rolling as soon as the adults in the room noticed how emotional Tiffany had become, and the resulting pictures and videos are simply beautiful.

Recognizing that this lovely moment between new family members was something special, Bree uploaded her videos and pictures to Instagram where they swiftly went viral. Bree wrote, and she wasn’t kidding!
