A 26-year-old man named Noel Lyles Has broken the record of Usain Bolt as he ran a 200-meter race within just 20 seconds.
Noel Lyles is an American Sprinter who achieved an impressive feat by breaking Usain Bolt’s record for running a 200-meter race under 20 seconds at the London Diamond League event.
Noel was able to complete his race within a time of 19.47 seconds which earned him the third-fastest time ever recorded in the event. According to Face to Face Africa, he is considered the fastest man in the world presently.
He is a five-time Diamond League champion, having secured the 100-meter and 200-meter double in 2019. Since he became a professional track and field sprinter, Noel has consistently performed at an exceptional level, completing 35 sprints in under 20 seconds.
Noel’s exceptional achievement surpasses Usain Bolt’s record of 34 sprints achieved before he retired. He said he is determined to bring back American dominance in sprinting, inspired by the era when his father, Kevin Lyles, competed against legendary sprinter Michael Johnson.
He also won the 2020 Tokyo Olympics which earned him a bronze medal. With his recent achievement in London, Noel has claimed his fifth gold medal in the 200-meter race at the competition.
Noel is now also a six-time World champion, having won the 200 meters and 4 x 100 m at the 2019 World Championships, the 200 meters at the 2022 World Championships, together with the 100 meters, 200 meters, and 4 x 100 m events at the 2023 World Championships.
