A small dog that had her tail hacked off with scissors finally found the loving everlasting home she deserves.

Smouse was residing at the De Doorns township in South Africa. Luckily, she wasn’t living there long when Sidewalk Specials stepped in and rescued her from the terrible home.

Before she was rescued, her owner used scissors to chop her tail off (a terrible procedure called “docking”) which left her in misery and agony.

Unfortunately, the tail wound ended up getting infected and tiny Smouse needed a savior and soon.

Her savior arrived in the form of Sidewalk Specials. The rescue group stepped in and snatched her from her terrible owner and started to work on mending her, both physically and psychologically.

Despite Smouse’s story had a difficult start, she’s currently thriving in life! The small puppy has endured so much tragedy and sorrow, and she’s even found the loving permanent home she so deserves.

While her prior home left her outside in the mud with a raging open wound and infection, her new home pamper her with loads of toys, playing, and healthy socialization with other dogs.

It’s apparent she really found the right match in a family and we couldn’t be happier for her.
