Kylian Mbappe‘s transfer saga has taken another massive twist. The PSG forward has been one of the most influential soccer stars since his performances for France at the 2018 World Cup. The Frenchmen also recently became the captain of his national team. But a bold statement by one of PSG’s higher hierarchy, regarding Mbappe’s dream move to Real Madrid, might just pose to be an obstacle in the future.

PSG will be looking to keep hold of their talisman, as he has refused to sign an extension. Despite being only 24, Mbappe has already won the Ligue 1 five times, won the World Cup with his country, and was named the young player of the tournament. After losing the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar, the Parisians will be looking to rebuild the squad around the star.

PSG’s president comments on the future of Kylian Mbappe

PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi has made a very confident statement regarding his superstar’s future. The Qatari will be keen to keep the Frenchmen at the club. He was questioned, “It’s a burning issue for fans around the world – Kylian Mbappe. His contract is running out. Are there any chances that he will stay at PSG for another season?” 

The PSG boss replied, “Kylian Mbappe is a PSG footballer. He loves this club. He is a fantastic player. He is the best in the world. We are happy to have him and will continue to have him!”

Mbappe’s contract will expire in 2024. The forward is most likely going to join Spanish giants Real Madrid. But Real Madrid decided not to sign the talented Frenchmen last season. However, the 14-time Champions League winners will likely try to sign the 2018 World Cup winner on a free transfer next season. The forward will be allowed to negotiate contracts with other clubs interested from January itself. Meanwhile, on the pitch, Mbappe has been in phenomenal form for PSG this season.

Mbappe has been in phenomenal form for PSG this season. After Messi and Neymar’s departures,  it’s finally time for Mbappe to step up and become the heart of the team. And he is doing just that.  The forward has already scored seven league goals and is currently the top scorer of Ligue 1. Despite being 3rd in the league table, PSG is still the favorite to win the league this season.

The number 7 was instrumental in their latest European tie, as PSG defeated Borussia Dortmund in the opening game of the Champions League. He bagged a goal in that game as well. Earlier in the summer, the winger had an extraordinary World Cup with France. He became the first player to score a World Cup final hat trick since 1966.
