Superstar Lionel Messi can join a club in Saudi Arabia on loan.
Inter Miami Club had no chance to participate in the knockout round of the American Professional League (MLS) after losing to rival Cincinnati not long ago. This means that the entire team, including superstar Lionel Messi, will not have any more matches in the club’s colors from the end of October until February next year.
Seeing that Messi is about to enter a long break, some teams are said to be considering recruiting the Argentine superstar. According to Rudy Galetti (Sky Sports), the Saudi Arabia Football Federation and the PIF Credit Fund are planning to cooperate to ask Messi to borrow for a few months.
Messi may join a Saudi Arabia team in the near future
If he joins a team in Saudi Arabia, Messi has the opportunity to reunite with Ronaldo – who is playing for Al Nassr.
Last summer, Messi rejected an offer worth up to 500 million USD/year from Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia) to join Inter Miami. However, the 2022 World Cup champion may change his mind if offered a short-term contract.
Besides, Messi is also said to be contacted to reunite with Barca. However, this scenario is difficult to achieve because of the financial problems Barca is facing.
It is not uncommon for an MLS star to go to another team to play football during the tournament. David Beckham also played for AC Milan while playing for LA Galaxy. Currently, Beckham is the co-owner of Inter Miami.
Messi is said to be satisfied with life at Inter Miami Club. Since joining the team in July, the 36-year-old superstar has helped the team win a historic Leagues Cup championship. According to Argentine media, Messi plans to return to his hometown team Newell’s Old Boys after his contract with Inter Miami expires in 2025.
Inter Miami will not have any official matches from October 22 to the end of February next year
