‘Chelsea are seriously in’… Staff at Chelsea now see £26m player as a top talent – journalist

Journalist Nizaar Kinsella has claimed that some staff at Chelsea are completely sold on signing Gabriel Moscardo.

He told the ‘London is Blue’ podcast that the Blues see it as a real possibility as an addition, however the player remains to be convinced.

Moscardo has emerged as the go-to young talent for clubs who are looking to bolster their midfields for the future.

Chelsea had any efforts to sign the Brazilian turned down back in the summer, when a £26m reported bid was not enough.

However, despite interest from the likes of Barcelona, they have remained in the hunt and conversation for his signature.

Kinsella has claimed that those at Stamford Bridge truly see the player as a top-tier talent for the future.

Chelsea see Moscardo as top talent

He said: “It will be interesting to see how Chelsea sell it to the player – will he be going on loan? I want to just say about Moscardo, a lot of people will be like ‘why are Chelsea going for another midfielder’ but he is really seen as a real, real top talent, like one of the high-tier talents.

“It’s seen as an opportunity for Chelsea. They’ve already tried to bid for him, so Chelsea are seriously in here. It might be that the player thinks there’s too much traffic.

“Chelsea are going to have this problem in the future now as they’ve got great young players in, but they might look at Chelsea and think ‘Enzo Fernandez is going to ruin my development, so why am I going to join Chelsea?’ I think the player is happy to wait and see his options.”

Behind Fernandez, there are plenty of young starts who are waiting for their opportunity to shine too.

This includes Romeo Lavia, who is reportedly getting closer to being fit enough to make his Chelsea debut.
