Kylian Mbappe scored on the penalty spot, but France could only get a 1-1 draw against Poland at Signal Iduna Park (Dortmund) on the evening of June 25 and finished Euro 2024 Group D with second place.
Poland was officially eliminated after the second match, but they still played with high spirit when facing France. Coach Deschamps’ team dominated the match, but Mbappe and Dembele had an ungainly match and could not score in the first half.

It seemed like France had won, but in the 79th minute, Poland was awarded a penalty when Dayot Upamecano fouled Swiderski in the penalty area. After two attempts, Lewandowski scored to equalize 1-1 for Poland and this was the final result of the match.

In the match at the same time, Austria unexpectedly beat the Netherlands 3-2 to take the top spot in Group D Euro 2024 with 6 points. France is second with 5 points and the Netherlands is third with 4 points. Poland is the only team in this group to be eliminated after winning only one point.
