Keegan Bradley has surprisingly been named USA captain ahead of the 2025 Ryder Cup – an honour that was expected to go to Tiger Woods.
Golf legend Woods was tipped to take on the role but reportedly declined due to his commitments as PGA Tour player director. Bradley, who previously played in the 2012 and 2014 Ryder Cups, was notably snubbed for last year’s competition in Rome. The 38-year-old will be keen to make amends for Europe’s decisive victory and guide the USA to their third consecutive win on home turf, which will be held in New York.
The decision to choose one-time major winner Bradley came as a shock, especially considering that captains usually serve as assistants before being promoted. Mirror Sport has taken a closer look at Bradley, who will become the youngest USA Ryder Cup captain since Arnold Palmer in 1963.

Bradley’s net worth is estimated to be around £19.5m ($25m) by CelebrityNetWorth.com, partly due to his endorsement deals with brands such as Flag and Anthem and Srixon. However, that is a relatively low number compared to the likes of Rory McIlroy (£132.7m) and world number one Scottie Scheffler (£70.2m).

The new Ryder Cup captain has earned approximately £37.4m ($48m) in prize money throughout his career, including £1.25m ($1.6m) in 2024 after finishing as runner-up at the Sony Open in Hawaii earlier this year.
Bradley is one of only six players to have won on their major debut. His single major title was secured at the 2011 PGA Championship and he has won a total of six PGA Tour events.
The golf star scooped a cool £2.8m ($3.6m) at last year’s Travelers Championship, but even that hefty cheque and his triumph at the 2022 Zozo Championship didn’t secure him a wildcard for Zach Johnson’s Ryder Cup team.

Golf runs in the family as Bradley is the nephew of Pat Bradley, a legend in the World Golf Hall of Fame. Off the course, he’s been happily hitched to his wife Jillian since 2016 and they share two sons, Logan and Cooper.
The Bradleys, both Vermont natives, are die-hard fans of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. Jillian has been more than just a supportive spouse; she’s caddied for Keegan during the Masters’ Par 3 Contest on several occasions.
Netflix viewers got a peek into their lives in the 2023 series Full Swing, where Keegan praised his wife, saying: “Jillian is the real champion of our family, she holds us all together.”

The show captured not only his disappointment of missing out on the Ryder Cup but also Jillian’s joy over Keegan’s victory at the Travelers Championship. “To win in front of the New England crowd, in front of both of our families, it was perfect,” she said. It’s one of those tournaments that we’d go to every year, and I know I just imagined picturing how cool it would be to win here.”
Reflecting on his triumph, Bradley confessed that the joy of sharing the moment with Jillian and their kids surpassed even his PGA Championship win: “For them to be able to feel the excitement of this and be here and feel it, I can’t put a price on that, it’s just the greatest feeling.”
