Watch as Patrick Mahomes breaks up a possible altercation during the Chiefs’ training camp

Patrick Mahomes is known for taking chances on the football field, but he wasn’t about to let a moment of intense passion from linebacker Drue Tranquill derail the Kansas City Chiefs’ training camp practice on Monday.

During one of Andy Reid’s infamous ‘long drive’ drills, Tranquill took exception to the actions of one of his teammates. The veteran defender had to be pulled away from a potential intra-squad brawl by Mahomes, who gently picked up the veteran backer and carried him away from the fray.

Take a look at this video of the incident, which was posted to Twitter by KC Sports Network:

It is unclear what caused Tranquill to get so heated, but judging from his reaction, he was none too pleased with whatever transpired before the camera started rolling.

Stay tuned to see if any more scraps break out during Kansas City’s practice session at Missouri Western State University on Monday.
