The picture was captioned, “9 rings.”
The caption is a play on how many NBA championship rings James has, which is four, plus the five Olympic rings which amounts to nine total.
Fans rushed to the picture to share their thoughts on the picture as Team USA continued their quest for gold.
“Perfect pic,” one fan wrote.
“Greatest of all time,” a second claimed.
“The goat,” a third commented.
“I think I get it,” said a fourth.
“KING,” a fifth wrote, adding a crown emoji and fire emoji.
Meanwhile, Team USA continues its dominance in this year’s Olympics.
They won all five of their showcase games and carried that momentum into the group stage.
Team USA defeated each team they played in group play by double digits.
James and company made quick work of Serbia, South Sudan, and Puerto Rico.
The team is now headed to the semifinals after defeating Brazil 122-87 in the quarterfinals.
It was a collaborative effort as six players scored in double digits with Devin Booker leading the way with 18 points.
The team’s defense stifled Brazil forcing them into 15 turnovers and holding them to 41% shooting.
Team USA will play Serbia who they previously defeated 105-79 in the exhibition games and 110-84 in group play.
The winner of Team USA and Serbia will face the winner of France and Germany for the coveted gold medal.
Kevin Durant also made history during Tuesday’s game as the highest-scoring player in U.S. Olympic basketball history.
Durant surpassed Lisa Leslie’s 488 career Olympic points and has two more games to build on his record.
This is Durant’s fourth Olympic appearance previously playing in 2012, 2016, and 2020.
James also was rushed off the court after getting hit in the face but returned to the bench at the end of the game.
