Floyd Mayweather next fight: 3 Opponent Options For ‘Money,’ Including Manny Pacquiao

The Floyd Mayweather next fight news should arrive in the coming months. While his legion of fans wait we look at three potential opponents for his ongoing exhibition tour and recap his August rematch with John Gotti III.

Despite closing in on 50 years old, Mayweather is likely to compete in several more exhibition matchups following his latest scrap with John Gotti III. However, he may look for opponents that draw more attention and dollars into his bank account.

Floyd Mayweather vs John Gotti III 2 recap

Mayweather vs Gotti III was a rematch that nobody asked for but still got anyway. And to the surprise of no one, the second time around was no different than their original clash.

What Happened: In the rematch, Floyd Mayweather again showed he was light years ahead of Gotti III as a fighter, even at 47. He also displayed the ridiculous power he had over the fight and card by firing his referee in Round 2 after being unhappy with a warning about an illegal blow to the back of the head.

The Fallout: There are no official winners or losers in an exhibition bout but Mayweather clearly was victorious in this rematch. And unlike the last time, at least the fight was able to be completed without a wild melee between the two fighters’ entourages.

The Roadmap: Mayweather is far from done with his new exhibition career and could look to squeeze one more in before 2024 comes to a close.

There is no doubt Floyd Mayweather is one of the greatest boxers to ever compete in the sport. Yet what makes him a one-of-a-kind is that his mix of s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁 and brash bravado was able to transcend the industry. He is the type of talent that combat sports fans have long been willing to pay big money to see him win, or hopefully lose.

The greatest villain in combat sports: Although Mayweather was a hero to some, relishing his role as a villain to all was what truly made him a box office megastar. And his ability to back up all his talk only heightened his appeal.
