Scottie Scheffler’s caddie in row with fans after earning MORE than Tiger Woods this year… including £2MILLION last week

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER’S caddie got into a hilarious row with a fan online after earning more than Tiger Woods this year.

Ted Scott has banked a staggering £4million in 2024 for being on the bag for the dominant world No1.

And assuming Scheffler is paying him ten per cent of his winnings, £2m of that came at last week’s Tour Championship as Scheffler secured the FedEx Cup.

That annual total, incredibly, would place Scott 19th in the PGA Tour earnings for 2024 – ahead of more than 200 professional golfers.

That includes some top stars such as Viktor Hovland, Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Thomas and, way down in 216th, a certain Tiger Woods.

Woods, one place behind Vijay Singh but ahead of Luke Donald, pocketed £34,000 on the course this year – all of that coming when he rewrote history at the Masters as he missed three cuts and withdrew from his only other events.

However, some fans were not impressed with Scott’s financials – with one reckoning “ten million people” could do his job.

The claim came in response to a sarcastic tweet from veteran golfer-turn-caddie Kip Henley.

Henley wrote: “I will pay @jtedscott 1.5 million dollars to let me caddie for him next year. That’s risky but I think it’s a solid plan.

“Teddy Boy can sit on the couch and not have to worry about stepping in a hole and spranging an ankle. That’s fair.”

But one golf fanatic took exception to the satire and responded: “‘Caddie’ is the most overrated ‘job’ in history.

“There are literally 10m people in the US that could do Ted’s job.”

But Scott – who engages regularly with supporters on X – refused to ignore the comment and snapped back brilliantly.

He replied in jest: “Wrong. Not everyone would want to spend time with you because you’re negative and tweet mean stuff.

“So that leaves 9,999,999 people that could do my ‘job’.”

Scott – who previously worked with Bubba Watson – took over as Scheffler’s caddie in 2021, helping guide the star through his rounds, reading greens, calculating yardages, selecting clubs and sharing his wisdom and advice while carrying the bag.

Since then, the 28-year-old from New Jersey has established himself as the best golfer in the world as their relationship proved particularly fruitful.

Scheffler has won 13 times on the PGA Tour and secured the Masters in 2022 and again in 2024.

This year, he also landed the Arnold Palmer Invitational. The Players Championship, the RBC Heritage, Memorial, Travelers and then capped off the year with the Tour Championship – as well as securing the Olympic gold medal and becoming a father.

Scott, though, missed a round of the PGA Championship to attend his daughter’s high school graduation.

And the caddie was not 100 per cent present during The Open – needing to take a lie down on the course at one point while feeling unwell.
