Was the Panthers vs Raiders matchup a shocking turn of events? Yes. Did it bring relief to many people, including perchance, Stephen Curry? Oh yes, after the football community witnessed a baffling sight all those years ago, fuelling ‘loyalty’ debates! Led by veteran quarterback, Andy Dalton, Carolina hit it home with a 36-22 win against the Raiders – their first win of the season. And maybe, in a day filled with unpredicted turnabouts, the Splash Brother’s presence might’ve been the lucky charm for his favorite NFL team.

But it wasn’t just the Warriors superstar who was cheering for the Panthers to win. Ayesha Curry was also at the Allegiant Stadium, enjoying the game day. Given that the NBA season will soon be in full swing, no doubt the 35-year-old is taking complete advantage of spending the maximum time with her husband.
CBS on NFL posted the video of the 4x champion and his wife on X. Captioned “Steph Curry watching his Panthers,” the clip showed Steph with a Panthers cap, listening to the conversation between Ayesha and a friend (likely), while keeping a keen eye on the game. The mother of four, for her part, was enjoying some food, looking absolutely comfortable.
The Panthers’ win comes at a tumultuous time for the team. Of course, the lack of wins is there, but Coach Dave Canales’ bold move – starting Dalton just 6 days after benching the former No. 1 pick, Bryce Young, was a much-needed relief. Stephen Curry, on the other hand, revealed he was “extremely excited” to have Young as the new QB. How the times change! Canales’ decision was definitely risky, given that the 36-year-old was sacked twice for a loss of 13 yards. But hey, he stepped up big time and was rewarded for it, too.
Tonight’s victory, though, wasn’t just about Carolina. It was also a personal win for Steph.
Stephen Curry gets ‘even’ for live embarrassment in the Panthers vs Raiders game in 2016
Steph Curry is a longtime Panthers fan, and there’s no two ways about it. So imagine the shock and surprise of fans and friends alike when they saw the 10x All-Star wearing Silver and Black in 2016. To be more specific, Curry was rocking the No. 4 jersey of Raiders quarterback Derek Carr. So how did the biggest fan and supporter of the Carolina football team, who even had the honor of pounding the team’s ceremonial drum before Super Bowl 50, end up in a Raiders jersey?
The answer was fairly simple – he lost a bet. You read it right. There was no conspiracy theory. NBA insider Marc J. Spears posted the photo where Steph was wearing Carr’s jersey. Needless to say, ‘Chef Curry’ looked like he was cooked, rather than the one doing the cooking.
But as Spears captioned the photo, Stephen Curry was indeed a good sport and kept his end of the bet.
