“Got You Covered”: LeBron James Makes Bold Promise With Netflix & His $725M Co. After ‘Starting 5’ Buzz

With basketball in short supply, LeBron James is keeping his legion of fans entertained with…basketball??? No, the preseason is yet to start, and the Olympics have concluded months back. Amid this extreme basketball drought, King James made sure to give the fans something to hang on to. That’s exactly what happened with Netflix’s movie ‘Rez Ball’ and after the rave reviews, the 39-year-old could only show his gratitude.

Taking to social media, LeBron thanked everyone for the success of the movie produced by his The SpringHill Company. “I’m incredibly proud of the team at @makespringhill and so grateful to @netflix to help us tell this story. For the families out there who love a great sports movie, we got you covered on your Netflix and chill type weekend,” LBJ wrote on X. Directed by Sydney Freeland, the drama revolves around the Chuska Warriors, a Native American high school basketball team from New Mexico. So far the series produced by LeBron’s $725 million production company, has an IMDb rating of 7.7 and a 94% Rotten Tomatoes rating.

The production team comprises LeBron, Jamal Henderson, Mauricio Mota, Spencer Beighley, Nancy Utley, Wayne Carmona and Katie Elmore Mota. The movie has already dropped on the OTT platform on September 27, so if you haven’t seen it yet, make sure to spend 1 hour and 51 minutes on a quality sports drama. But LeBron has more in store for us.

The Lakers star attended the red carpet of the upcoming Netflix show, ‘Starting 5,’ where he ran into an eight-year-old Zhuri lookalike. The anticipation surrounding the show is at its peak and the fans won’t have to wait much longer to see their favorite stars on the screen.

LeBron James is ready to provide fans with an in-depth look behind the NBA scenes

When the Netflix documentary ‘Quarterback’ was released last year, it was an instantaneous hit among the NFL community. The show featured 3 QBs, Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariota. The ‘Hard Knocks’ from HBO also gained popularity, paving the way for LeBron James’ new show. But this time LeBron has company. With him, the show will feature Anthony Edwards, Jimmy Butler, Jayson Tatum, and Domantas Sabonis.

Director Susan Ansman and Peter J. Scalettar aim to provide the audience with “an intense, behind-the-scenes look at five of the league’s best players.” The 10-episode series will dive into the stories of LeBron’s 2023-24 season as well as the same for the other 4 stars. “Just see what we do before we even get on the floor. Just see, you know, off days and spending time with our families and our friends and, you know, just life outside of the game. I think, you know, like I said, the human side of us will be showing a lot on this, and I think people will be appreciative of that,” LeBron said on the red carpet when asked about the expectations from the show.

The first episode will be aired on October 9, and surely we’ll have some iconic moments that will break the internet amid the preseason action.
