Basketball legends LeBron James and Bronny James have become the first father and son in history to play together for the same NBA team.

LeBron James and his son had the chance to play together in the match between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns, within the framework of the American Professional Basketball League (NBA) taking place in California. It was also a historic moment in the NBA, when a father and son pair played on the same team.

The 20-year-old came on in the second half and played a total of 13 minutes. However, he only played alongside his father in the Los Angeles Lakers lineup for four minutes.

“This is really a great moment for both of us, especially for my family. I will definitely never forget this moment,” LeBron James shared after the match.

Bronny James joined the Los Angeles Lakers this past summer as a second-round pick from the University of Southern California. The Jameses will certainly have plenty of opportunities to play together this season.

“For a father, this means a lot. Growing up in a difficult situation, but now I can have a positive influence on my 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren, spend precious moments with Bronny James and play together. It’s really the best thing a father can hope for,” LeBron James added.

At the age of 39, LeBron James still proved his worth. In this match, LeBron James was the brightest star on the field when he alone brought 19 points to the Los Angeles Lakers. Meanwhile, his son Bronny James did not score any points. In the end, the Los Angeles Lakers had to accept a 114 – 118 defeat against the Phoenix Suns.

LeBron James is the all-time leading scorer in NBA history and has won the prestigious tournament four times. He is currently preparing for his 22nd season in the NBA . Recently, LeBron James also signed a new two-year contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, after his son joined the team.
