Born in 1935 in Crockett, Texas, Myrtis Dightman made history in 1967, not only for being one of the best bull riders, but also for breaking barriers that no one thought were possible.

The Texas cowboy took the rodeo world by storm, proving his tenacity and s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁 with every eight-second ride.But Myrtis wasn’t just known for his talent, he also had a knack for making bold statements. After receiving a score he felt was unfair, he famously rode his horse backwards with a suitcase in his hand to prove his point. Moments like these make Myrtis unforgettable.
