Blake Lively beams while walking arm-in-arm with husband Ryan Reynolds in NYC – after It Ends With Us backlash

Blake Lively put on a loved-up display with her longtime husband Ryan Reynolds in New York City on Tuesday — nearly two months after the It Ends With Us backlash.

The actress, 37, could hardly contain her joy as she and the Deadpool star, 47, strolled the sidewalk arm-in arm.

Grinning from ear-to-ear, Lively looked stylish in a purple tweed vest over a white cashmere top.

She tucked her sweater into a pair of flared navy blue trousers that matched her suede heeled boots.

For a pricey touch, the Gossip Girl alum accessorized with a BVLGARI gold serpent necklace that retails for upwards of $36,000.

Her signature dirty blonde hair was swept back in a ponytail for her day out with Ryan.

The Canadian hunk showed off his lean muscles in a fitted button-up top with funky floral embroidery.

He styled it with a white undershirt, skinny blue trousers and white Converse All-Star sneakers.

To complete his outfit, Ryan threw on a blue baseball cap and stylish glasses.

According to eyewitnesses, the Hollywood power couple were en route to a business meeting on Tuesday afternoon.

Blake and Ryan — who wed back in 2012 — are based in New York with their four young 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren: James, nine, Inez, seven, Betty, four, and Olin, one.

Last week, the proud dad gave rare insight into his and Blake’s parenting style during HubSpot’s INBOUND tech conference in Boston on Friday.

He began by saying that he thinks parents today are ‘so soft’ and ‘so different’ compared to when he was growing up as a 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥.

Ryan said that, nowadays, parents ‘don’t yell,’ and kids do not face ‘improvised militia’ like he experienced in his 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥hood.

At the event, he recalled taking a workshop on conflict resolution, which he said shifted his perspective and ‘changed my life.’

‘I just didn’t know how to process things that I felt,’ he admitted as he explained why he was interested in taking the workshop and learning more about himself.

‘Because I [had a] scarcity mindset when I was younger,’ he continued.

‘I didn’t know how to unfold that thing in your brain that conditions you just always to win or be right.’

He added: ‘Something I love about [conflict resolution], and I know this is not very fancy, but what I love about it is that you can meet somebody where they are and you don’t have to be right or wrong. You can disagree and still connect.’

Even though he has learned to work through his feelings, he said his young 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren are still learning.

‘I have four kids, and so far, none of them seem to have that [scarcity mindset], partly because they were 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 on Easy Street,’ he said with a chuckle.

‘Parents today are so different,’ he continued.

‘We’re so soft,’ he said. ‘I don’t yell. I grew up with like — it was nuts, it was an improvised militia.’

He said that the changes with his generation’s parenting style are for the better.

‘Now it’s like, I can go look at all my resources for parenting and remind myself how to be perfectly compassionate.’

The couple have been spotted out together in NYC in recent weeks as they continue to move past the drama surrounding Blake’s latest film, It Ends With Us.

Specifically, Blake was hit by claims that she insensitively promoted the film, based off Colleen Hoover’s novel about an abusive relationship, as she had often failed to mention the movie’s serious themes during the press tour.

She has also been embroiled in a rumored feud with the film’s director, Justin Baldoni, who also stars opposite her in the movie.

The book’s sequel, It Starts With Us, is also set to be filmed – but Life & Style reported earlier this month that Reynolds is willing to buy out Baldoni’s stake in the franchise to ensure Blake doesn’t have to work with the Jane The Virgin actor again.

An insider told the outlet that Reynolds is prepared to offer the star ‘millions’ for his stake in the franchise.

‘Ryan is willing to offer millions to Blake’s director and costar, Justin Baldoni, in an attempt to buy out his stake in the franchise so Blake can continue her role without having to work with Baldoni, with whom she clashed,’ a source told Life & Style.

‘This is the biggest film Blake has ever made. Ryan wants to make sure she isn’t replaced in the sequel!’ the insider added.

Justin’s production company, Wayfarer Studios, is believed to hold the rights to the sequel after they optioned the film rights for It Starts With Us back in 2019.

It Starts With Us picks up after the end of the first novel and focuses on the relationship between Lily Bloom (Blake) and Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Sklenar), though Justin’s character Ryle Kincaid still features.

However, sources recently told the Daily Mail that plans to get the hit follow-up novel on to the big screen are in doubt as a result, with the project yet to be officially confirmed.

‘It’s hard to imagine Justin wanting to work with Blake – or vice versa – after all this bad blood. Whatever started this feud, there certainly has been no obvious rapprochement between the pair,’ one industry insider said.

An insider also cautioned The Wrap that ‘no additional conversations have been had at this time regarding the sequel’, adding to fans’ concerns about the follow-up.

While Blake served as a producer on It Ends With Us, Justin directed and executive produced, but he has hinted he may not return in both roles if there is a sequel amid claims of a ‘creative struggle’ between him and his co-star.

When asked about returning to direct, he recently told Entertainment Tonight: ‘You’re gonna have to ask me in a little while. We’re gonna take a vacation after this.

‘I think there are better people for that one. I think Blake Lively is ready to direct. That’s what I think.’
