So, we all know the first time Woods played in a Masters Tournament in 1997. Well, he happened to give the ball to Stephens’s son who has very conveniently lost it in their luxurious house. “Probably in Our House Forever”,  said the man who is worth $3.3 billion. Well, here’s how he narrated the story. Stephens recalled a memorable moment with Tiger Woods that didn’t make it to Sports Illustrated but was captured in another golf magazine.

The photo showed Tiger walking off the 18th hole, handing a ball to Stephens’s son, alongside another individual. The ball’s current whereabouts have become a running mystery, with its value estimated to be in the millions. Although unsure, he believes it’s still in their possession, hidden somewhere in their house. “Now, the question is, where is it? I was going to say I’m not 100%—literally a million-dollar question”, asked the host to which Stephens replied, “Yeah, yeah, I’m not, I’m not really sure… Um, I think we’ve still got it somewhere”.

The elusive ball’s fate remains an intriguing tale, aptly titled “The Mystery of Tiger’s Ball”, waiting to be told in The Golfers Journal. Now, that everyone is recalling the first ever time Tiger Woods won the Masters, let us also revisit the moment a little more closely.

Tiger Woods’s historic Masters victory: 27 years later

Almost three decades ago, the golf world witnessed a seismic shift. In 1997, a 21-year-old Tiger Woods arrived at the Masters, having never broken par in six rounds at Augusta National. One week later, he stunned the sports world with a 12-stroke victory that defied imagination. Woods had already won three tournaments as a professional, fueling the rising “Tigermania” and the fans were excited for him to grab this win as well. Well, he didn’t disappoint.

Actor Jack Nicholson was among the attendees, and the ticket demands skyrocketed, with badges selling for as much as $10,000 so one can only imagine what worth that ball must be after Woods won the tournament. That was also one instance when the fans got to see Woods wear red on Sunday which his mother thinks is a lucky colour for him. Do you think that ball will ever be found again?
