Elon Musk has criticized Robert De Niro for his comparison of Donald Trump to historical dictators such as Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini. Musk called De Niro’s comments “nonsensical” and expressed confusion over how De Niro was manipulating facts, claiming that Trump’s policies did not align with those of infamous dictators. The dispute between Musk and Hollywood figures, particularly De Niro, has intensified since 2022, with key points of contention revolving around free speech and political correctness.
De Niro, who continues to support the Democratic Party, has labeled Trump a “clown” and warned of the dangers of his potential re-election, drawing parallels to historical figures who rose to power despite initial public disbelief. The actor believes that Trump poses a significant threat to democracy and has even participated in campaign events for President Joe Biden, emphasizing the importance of protecting democratic values.
On the other hand, Musk has pushed back against De Niro’s assertions, pointing to Trump’s previous presidency and achievements, such as the Abraham Accords, which Musk argues contradict the claims made by De Niro. Musk, who once identified as a Democrat, has since expressed support for a “red wave,” indicating a shift in his political views amid the ongoing tensions with Hollywood elites.
