Anne Hathaway stuns in a strapless black belted jumpsuit as she joins a slew of stars for the opening night of Hugh Jackman’s Broadway revival of The Music Man in NYC

Anne Hathaway was among the famous faces who attended opening night of Broadway’s The Music Man at the Winter Garden Theater in New York City on Thursday.

Hathaway, 39, turned heads in a strapless black jumpsuit, while Blake Lively, 34, took the plunge in a stylish purple pantsuit.

The highly-anticipated Broadway revival began previews in late December and stars Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster as the classic musical’s leading roles.

In The Music Man, Hugh Jackman plays the role of Harold Hill, a con man who poses as a band organiser and leader and sells band instruments and uniforms to naïve townsfolk.

However, Harold has no music experience, and no plans to teach the locals, and librarian and piano teacher Marian (Sutton Foster) quickly begins to see through his act.

When Harold helps Marian’s younger brother overcome his lisp, she begins to fall for him, and the rebel risks revealing his true identity to win her heart.

The musical first premiered on Broadway in 1957, and won five Tony Awards, before opening on the West End in 1961, and was later made into a film starring Robert Preston as Harold and Shirley Jones as Marian.
