In fan art, 7 Superman actors team up for an incredible DC crossover

Almost every Superman actor from past and present live-action adaptations unite for one epic DC crossover in a new stunning fan art.

A new stunning piece of fan art has brought together seven live-action Superman actors for an epic DC crossover uniting multiple generations of the Man of Steel. Superman is one of the handful of DC characters who have been reimagined time and time again for live-action. Whether it is on the big screen or in the world of television, there have been multiple powerful portrayals of the last son of Krypton for decades.

To this day, Superman’s history in live-action continues to be celebrated as new fans discover old shows and movies. Popular digital artist Art of Time Travel recently celebrated all live-action versions of Superman in new artwork titled, “The League of Supermen.”

The poster features, from left to right, George Reeves (Adventures of Superman), Brandon Routh (Superman Returns, Crisis on Infinite Earths), Henry Cavill (DCEU), Christopher Reeve (Superman: The Movie), Tyler Hoechlin (Superman & Lois), Tom Welling (Smallville), and Dean Cain (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman). Some of these versions of Superman have even gotten to share the screen, with Hoechlin having engaged with both Welling and Routh’s respective incarnations during the Arrowverse crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths.

What’s Next For Superman In Live-Action?

Currently, Superman & Lois is an ongoing live-action depiction of the Man of Steel, but it’s unclear if The CW will renew it for season 4. As for the movies, after Henry Cavill’s official exit as Superman, a new film is currently in the works. James Gunn set to write and direct Superman: Legacy for the DC Universe. Casting is underway as they are looking to tap the next live-action Superman, as well as Lois Lane, Lex Luthor and other Superman-related characters.

Outside the new DC Universe, Warner Bros. is still developing their Black Superman reboot from J.J. Abrams and Ta-Nehisi Coates. Even though DC Studios is mainly focusing on its new interconnected franchise, co-CEOs Gunn and Peter Safran are also exploring Elseworlds stories, which is how the Black Superman movie could happen. Since it hasn’t been formally scrapped, Max may still be developing their Val-Zod series with Michael B. Jordan.

Given how far Superman has come in live-action, it will be interesting to see what Gunn’s film will add to the character’s media legacy. With casting likely coming out in the next few months, the world will soon know who their next Man of Steel will be on the big screen. But for now, fans can relive all of these past and present versions of Superman on streaming and home releases.
