Victor Wembanyama Claims He Feels No Pressure After Being Called The Best Prospect Since LeBron James

There is no doubt that Victor Wembanyama is one of the most hyped prospects in recent memory, and many believe that he is a generational talent. It is clear that his combination of size, athleticism, and s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁 is tantalizing to many.

There have been frequent comparisons between Victor Wembanyama and LeBron James. Though a lot of players would fold under that sort of pressure, it seems as though Victor Wembanyama is unphased.

J.J. Redick: “When someone says you’re the best prospect since LeBron… There’s no pressure from that?”

Victor Wembanyama: “True. No pressure from that.”

It is clear that it takes a lot of confidence and work to become the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft, and Victor Wembanyama knows what he is capable of. He will almost certainly be drafted by the San Antonio Spurs, which is the perfect franchise to help him develop.

This season, Victor Wembanyama averaged 21.6 PPG, 10.4 RPG, and 2.4 APG for Metropolitans 92. We will see whether he can become a superstar in the league, but all signs point to that happening.

Some People Believe Victor Wembanyama Can Become The GOAT

As a prospect, it is clear that Victor Wembanyama’s potential is extremely high, and the sky is the limit for him. In fact, one NBA agent believes that Wembanyama has the potential to become the GOAT of basketball.

“If he’s not hurt, he’ll be the greatest player ever,” said the agent, who has multiple clients playing overseas and in the NBA. “He’s the best player in the league and the level of players he’s playing against are the best players in the Pac-12, the best college players, borderline NBA guys — and he’s dominating. Dominating. Wembanyama’s physicality, I think people underestimate because he’s so thin. He’s a physically strong dude. When everything opens in the NBA, he’s going to be unstoppable, totally unstoppable. He’ll be the best rim protector in the NBA from day one. And then offensively, he’ll be an efficient, unstoppable force from day one.”

It is hard to see Victor Wembanyama surpassing Michael Jordan and LeBron James as of right now, though he will likely be a great player in his own right. Still, nothing is impossible, and Victor Wembanyama definitely has the talent level to make a similar mark in the league.
