Zach LaVine Reportedly Doesn’t Want To Get Traded To The Knicks

There is no doubt that shooting guard Zach LaVine is one of the best scorers in the league when he’s healthy. He is elite from the 3PT range and has amazing athleticism, which helps with his slashing.

There has been a lot of speculation about the Chicago Bulls potentially trading Zach LaVine this offseason. Though he has frequently been linked with the New York Knicks, a recent report from Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News revealed that he isn’t interested in such a trade.

“Zach LaVine’s representatives would be against a deal to the Knicks, the Daily News has learned. The Bulls are reportedly gauging interest in the All-Star guard, which prompted speculation that the Knicks — who are strapped with future draft assets — would get involved. But a source said the LaVine camp isn’t interested in dealing with the Knicks, who have a reputation around the league of favoring clients of CAA, the agency that employed Leon Rose before his move to the Knicks front office.”

Usually, star players tend to get to destinations they want, and this report likely means that Zach LaVine will not be a member of the New York Knicks in the future. The Knicks do have other traded options, such as Los Angeles Clippers wing Paul George.

This season, Zach LaVine averaged 24.8 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and 4.2 APG for the Chicago Bulls while shooting 37.5% from beyond the arc. He can be an impact player on a winning team, and hopefully, he ends up on a contending franchise in the future.

The New York Knicks Could Try To Move For Donovan Mitchell In The Future

Even if Zach LaVine doesn’t want to go to the New York Knicks, they definitely will have opportunities to trade for other star-level players. In fact, Donovan Mitchell is a name that the team could potentially look at.

“While the Knicks will search elsewhere via the trade market this summer to augment their roster in hopes of taking the next step toward title contention, Mitchell’s status will continue to bear watching over the next two years due to his ongoing flirtation with his hometown team,” wrote the New York Post‘s Peter Botte.

This season, Donovan Mitchell averaged 28.3 PPG, 4.2 RPG, and 4.4 APG, while shooting 38.6% from 3PT range. He would give the Knicks another shot creator next to Jalen Brunson, and hopefully, we see him on his hometown team one day.
