Attica Scott made her mark in political history months before the results of the general election came in. She became Kentucky’s first African American woman legislator in almost 20 years when she won the primary election for Kentucky’s 41st House District back in March and had no Republican challenger to face in November.
However, she still had to wait until the first week of January to be sworn into the Kentucky House. Scott took to Twitter to share what was most special about the moment. Seeing how her daughter watched the entire thing.
“Wow, this picture of my daughter watching her mom get sworn in as the first Black woman in the Kentucky House in nearly 20 years…love.” – Attica Scott
LOVE! Ms. Scott, thank you for inspiring and showing young girls like your daughter, that the possibilities are endless.
