Actress Priyanka Chopra revealed that about two years before officially dating Nick Jonas, she actively did not ‘go further’ because she was hesitant about being much older than him.
“I didn’t want to commit at that time. I was 35 and Nick was 25,” Priyanka Chopra shared on the Armchair Expert podcast about the early days of meeting her husband. The Indian actress said that year, Nick Jonas got to know her through Twitter messages.
“I actually stopped the relationship with Nick in a way because I was judging things on the surface,” Priyanka recalls. “I told myself I just wanted to settle down and was past the fun of dating. I didn’t realize he was like a 70-year-old man trapped in a 25-year-old’s body.”
Miss World 2000 said she was reserved because of her past experiences in bad relationships. She felt manipulated and made similar mistakes in love. When she met Nick, Priyanka was also at the end of a stormy relationship.
Nick Jonas first started talking to Priyanka Chopra in September 2016 when he tweeted her: “I saw some mutual friends said we should meet.” Priyanka responded to him, but after that, she only texted sporadically. The two first met in 2017 at an Oscars after-party, where Nick confessed to being stunned by Priyanka’s stunning beauty. “I put down my drink, ran up to her, got down on one knee (in front of a crowd of people) and said, ‘There you are! Where have you been all my life?'” Nick said.
In May 2017, the two attended the Met Gala and had a few other meetings. However, they did not start dating until a year later. Just two months after officially dating, Nick Jonas proposed, shocking Priyanka. Priyanka said: “He will try to do anything he wants. He has such great confidence that you can’t help but say ‘yes’.” At the end of 2018, the Indian beauty and the American singer held a wedding ceremony at a castle in India.
Priyanka confided that despite cultural differences and an age gap, she and Nick still get along perfectly. The Baywatch star revealed that her husband always loves, understands and supports his wife. Last year, the couple’s family became even happier when their first daughter, Malti, was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧.
