One of the most anticipated moments of the upcoming NBA season will occur when LeBron and Bronny James share the hardwood. The LA Lakers used their 55th pick to draft the 19-year-old over the summer, thus creating the first father-son duo in the league.

LeBron is maximizing this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. On Friday, the four-time champion appeared on GoJo and Golic to discuss preparing for the moment when he plays NBA basketball with his son.
“It’s definitely different in the sense of just mentioning Bronny being part of the team now. I’m looking at you twouguys right now. I think it’s one of the greatest things in the world to be able to work with your kid.
“This week we got back into the gym and it was really the first time that me and Bronny was basically on the floor as professionals. Training, going against each other, preparing for the season. I had a couple of moments where I lost focus, and I’m not used to losing focus when I’m on the floor.
Like most fans, Mike Golic Jr. was curious about what Bronny calls his father on the court. The Lakers star replied that his son hadn’t addressed him in any particular way on the court during their practices.
“He has not said anything yet. He has not given me a name yet on the court, and I actually have my ears so open, waiting for the moment. And I know it’s gonna come at one point.”
James began speaking at the 1:11:40 mark.
James said in the past that he’s open to being called “2-3, Bron or GOAT” by his son.
Lakers could have LeBron James share the court with Bronny sooner than expected
Various reports state Bronny could spend most of his rookie season in the G-League. This narrative emerged after his underwhelming Summer League performance. However, ESPN’s Zach Lowe shared that the Lakers might have a workaround for the young guard to play alongside LeBron James sooner.
“He is 100 percent playing in the opening game, so they can have a moment together. Lowe said on The Bill Simmons podcast. That’s going to happen, so they [can] pass to each other or whatever it ends up being.”
The Lakers open their regular season on Oct. 22 against the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, whether Bronny will play in the season opener has not been confirmed.
