Mason Greenwood was given his marching orders on Tuesday evening after reacting furiously during Getafe’s LaLiga clash with Rayo Vallecano.
Greenwood’s side were already 2-0 down after the break and already down to 10 men following an earlier double yellow, but suffered another blow after he was sent off for dissent on 50 minutes.
The forward has spent the season on loan from Manchester United after joining on transfer deadline day from the Premier League giants.
During the game, with the hosts in dire need of a goal to get back in the tie, Greenwood picked up the ball at around the halfway line before dribbling through three Rayo Vallecano players.
After a one-two with his team-mate, Greenwood then breaks toward the visitors’ goal, but is plagued by two defenders nipping at his heels.

Greenwood has scored five goals and assisted four more in all competitions since joining Getafe on loan
Greenwood’s spell in Spain has hardly rooted up any trees, however he has drawn interest in his services on a permanent basis from LaLiga sides.
While Getafe are thought to be keen in keeping the player – who has scored five goals and assisted four in 15 club appearances – they may face competition from giants Barcelona.
Despite a somewhat modest return for the Spanish side, Greenwood’s form has been enough to turn the Blaugrana’s head according to the Sun, who report that Barca are prepared to splash £40million for his services.
The report also claims that the No 10 shirt – currently claimed by Ansu Fati who is on loan at Brighton – could be offered to Greenwood to potentially sweeten the deal.
